Elder law and planning in Milwaukee

Planning with your parents, from an office down their street

Powers of attorney, Medicaid planning, guardianship and special needs trusts. Meet us downtown, in Wauwatosa or in Bay View, or we bring the papers to the house or the hospital room.

  • Admitted in Wisconsin
  • Milwaukee, Waukesha and Ozaukee counties
  • Hospital signings, seven days a week
  • Chiamaka Ekwueme, an older woman with short gray hair, a black jacket and a red flower brooch, smiling against a blue backdrop
  • Ferdinand Kettering, a man in a gray blazer and a dark red shirt, seated with his hands together against a white backdrop
  • Xochitl Wojtaszek, a woman with long dark hair in a red blazer and white top, in an office

Three offices

Sit down at the office nearest your mother’s house

Each office opens the same family file. You can sign downtown on your lunch hour while your father signs in Bay View on Saturday.

What we do

Four pieces of work for the later years

We don’t do divorces, injuries or business deals. We do this, for parents and for the grown children helping them.

  • Powers of attorney

Name the person who pays the bills and talks to the doctors if your parent can’t. Done while they still can.

    About powers of attorney
  • Medicaid planning

A nursing home can cost more each month than a mortgage. We plan how to pay for it without handing over the house.

    About Medicaid planning
  • Guardianship

When a parent can no longer decide and never signed papers, a court names someone. We take the family through it.

    About guardianship
  • Special needs trusts

Leave money to an adult child with a disability without cutting off the benefits they live on.

Your lawyers

One of us at each office, all three on every file

Whoever you meet first stays your lawyer. The other two read the plan before you sign it.

From the sons, daughters and parents we’ve sat with

“Ferdinand came to the hospital on a Sunday so Dad could sign while he still knew what he was signing. He read every line aloud to him.”

Renata P.Daughter, Wauwatosa

“My brother lives in Phoenix and I live in Brookfield. Chiamaka set up one call a month for both of us and sent the notes after.”

Desmond A.Son, Milwaukee

“I wanted my own say in it. Xochitl met me in Bay View and spoke to me, not to my kids across the table.”

Lorraine K.Client, Bay View

Every family’s situation is different. These words describe their experience and don’t promise a result in yours.

Call one number and we’ll book the office that suits your parent

Tell us where your parent lives and what’s worrying you. We’ll set a first meeting, at an office or at home, and quote the flat fee before it starts.
