Ferdinand spent his first years as a guardian ad litem, the lawyer a court sends to ask the older person what they want. He still starts every case by asking the parent first.
He keeps Thursday evenings open in Wauwatosa for families who can’t leave work, and he takes most of the firm’s hospital and care home signings. He learned sign language for a client in 2011 and kept it up.
